MICHIGAN CITY (01-09-2018) It might have taken a while, but the Crown Point Lady Bulldogs picked-up their first Duneland Athletic Conference win of the season.

They accomplished it with a 73-55 win on the road against the Michigan City Lady Wolves on Tuesday, January 9.

After a tight opening quarter, the Lady Bulldogs pulled away on a 19-10 run to close out the first half. A half that had Crown Point hit six of its team's nine three pointers.

Eight of the nine Lady Bulldogs that played scored points. Finishing with 15 points apiece, senior guard Mya Scheidt and junior forward Paige Sanborn.

Crown Point also got production from sophomore guard Abby Stoddard, who had 14 points; while freshman guard Alyna Santiago had 10 points.

For Michigan City, junior forward/center Hannah Noveroske led all scorers with 23 points and junior forward Janicia Anderson had 11 points.

Noveroske had 13 points at the half, as the Lady Bulldogs led 40-29. Crown Point would go on to outscore Michigan City 33-26 in the second half.

With the win, the Lady Bulldogs improve their mark to 10-8 overall, while the Lady Wolves dropped to 9-7 overall. Both teams are now 1-4 in the DAC.

Lady Dog Notes:
This game was made-up from it’s originally scheduled date of Friday, January 5. Due to inclimate weather in Michigan City that day, the game was postponed to Tuesday.

With 73 points scored against Michigan City, this marks the second highest point total for Crown Point in a game this season. They scored 77 points in a home game against Morton on December 5. The Lady Bulldogs won that game 77-45.
