CROWN POINT (4-26-2016) Playing with a strong cold wind, the Crown Point Bulldogs for only the second time this season, played a game in which they gave-up at least one run.
But they still managed to win the game, defeating the Portage Indians, 7-0 in a Duneland Athletic Conference game. Constant scoring paved the way for the Bulldogs, tallying-up three runs in the first inning, after the Indians left the bases loaded in the top half.
Junior Natalie Klingberg helped get the offense started with a two-run double in the first. Senior Marie O’Mally went 3 for 3, including a third-inning home run over the fence in right field.
Junior starting pitcher Alexis Holloway, allowed one run in the top of the seventh, but picked-up her fifth win of 2016.
The Lady Bulldogs remain undefeated with a 9-0 record overall, 8-0 in the DAC. Portage falls to 3-9 overall and 2-6 in the DAC.
