CROWN POINT (5-08-2017) Taking advantage of miscues, the Crown Point Bulldogs prevailed as they hosted the visiting Kankakee Valley Kougars in a nonconference softball match-up. With the visitors committing three errors, it help paved the way to a 3-0 Bulldogs' victory.

After senior MacKenzie Dunlap led off the game with a triple, she would come around and score when fellow senior Alexis Holloway reached second base on an error. Sophomore Maggie Ballentine’s sacrifice fly scored fellow sophomore Gracie Frazier from third and the Bulldogs led 2-0 after the opening inning.

In the fifth, Dunlap drew a walk and then went to third base on two errors. Holloway’s single then brought Dunlap in to complete the scoring.

Holloway also went the distance for the Bulldogs. Through seven innings pitching, the right-hander struck out 11 and walk none for the shutout. The Lady Bulldogs improved their record to 19-1 on the season (11-0 in the Duneland Athletic Conference), while Kankakee Valley fell to 12-6 overall (6-4 Northwest Crossroads Conference).
