CROWN POINT (4-24-2015) It took a two-run single off the bat of Miranda Elish in the bottom half of the fifth inning to give the Crown Point Bulldogs an 11-0 DAC win over the Merrillville Pirates. The game was called as a result of the 10-run mercy rule, following a four-run frame. The Bulldogs scored at least a run in every inning except the second.

As the designated player, Elish batted in the leadoff spot, just part of the top three in the lineup that produced six RBIs. Hitting second in the batting order, Alexis Holloway went two for three with two runs scored and an RBI. But it was on the mound that she shined, pitching four innings, striking out 12, while yielding only one base runner. She allowed a two-hit single in the first-inning to Makayla Pearson, then retired the next 13 hitters she would face.
