MERRILLVILLE (4-18-2018) Taking advantage of good pitching and long balls, the Crown Point Bulldogs continued their dominance within the Duneland Athletic Conference last week. On the road, they maintained their perfect conference mark with a 10-0 win over the winless Merrillville Pirates, called after six innings due to the mercy rule.

The Bulldogs set the tone in the second inning when senior Hannah Grady hit a two-run home run that cleared the right centerfield fence, highlighting a four-run inning.

The following inning senior Madison Pizer also connected on a two-run homer. Crown Point added three runs in the fourth and one in the sixth.

In picking-up the win, freshman starting pitcher Madi Young retired the first 12 hitters she faced before giving-up a hit. The Bulldogs' right-hander retired the last five Pirates to seal victory.

Our next Internet radio softball broadcast on will be Tuesday, April 24 when the Bulldogs host the Portage Indians. The pregame show is at 4:15 p.m. CDT and first pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. CDT.
