CROWN POINT (5-13-2019) It did not take long for the Crown Point Bulldogs to make a statement against the Highland Trojans. They scored three runs in the opening inning on two errors and a wild pitch.

It would set the tempo as the Bulldogs picked-up a 10-0 victory on Senior Day, called in the bottom of the fifth by virtue of the Mercy Rule.

The starting lineup for Crown Point would feature all seven seniors as they were honored in pregame ceremonies.

The Bulldogs would cap things off in the bottom of the fifth. After reaching base on an error to begin the inning, sophomore Delaney Adams would advance to third. She then scored on fellow sophomore’s Alex Holloway’s hit, which gave Crown Point the victory.

Holloway got on base three times, as she tripled-in a run in the second and then reached on an error in the fourth. She scored two runs.

Also scoring two runs apiece for Crown Point were seniors Mallory McMahon and Maggie Ballentine.

Every player on the Bulldogs that came to the plate reached base at least once.

The Bulldogs also got dominate pitching from freshman starting pitcher Brinkley Kita, who went two innings and sophomore Madi Young, who picked-up the win with three solid innings.

The Trojans did not get a base-runner until the top of the fourth inning, when freshman Ava Leffel picked-up a leadoff single.
