HOBART (05-10-2019) Taking advantage of a four-run fifth inning, the Crown Point Bulldogs prevailed to a non-conference 7-1 victory over the Hobart Brickies, out of the Northwest Crossroads Conference.

After the Bulldogs’ gave-up a run in the bottom of the third, they quickly tied the score, the following half inning.

In the top of the fourth, Bulldogs’ junior Christian Mojica led off with a single to right. He would come around and score when senior Alex Rich lined a single to left field.

Then in the fifth, Crown Point sent eight men to the plate, scoring on two wild pitches and RBI doubles by Mojica and right-handed starting pitcher Gene Kolarik.

The Bulldogs then added two runs in the top of the seventh as junior Zach Stubitsch doubled-in a run, while Alex Rich tallied in from third on a wild pitch.

For Crown Point, they have now won four-straight games that started on May 6 with their previous three victories within the Duneland Athletic Conference. The wins came at Valparaiso and then claiming both the home-and-home meetings with Merrillville.
