CROWN POINT (05-02-2018 & 05-04-2018) It took a span of three days for the Valparaiso Vikings and the Crown Point Bulldogs to complete the back-end of a home-and-home stretch.

It took a span of 48 hours for the Vikings to pick-up a 6-5 victory.

After the two teams combined for 31-run with the Bulldogs winning 18-13 at Valparaiso on May 1, they met the next day on Bulldog turf.

With the venue shifting to Crown Point, two and a half innings were the best they could get in before the rain came, forcing a suspension of play to the following day.

May brought more rain and play would have to wait another day to resume.

The next day, with sunny skies above, played resumed.

Two days earlier, the Vikings took a 5-2 lead, scoring all their runs in the top of the second, sending nine to the plate, while the Bulldogs tallied a run each of the first two innings.

When play resumed in the bottom of the third, the Bulldogs picked-up two runs, but would leave five on base over the next three innings combined.

To close out the scoring, both teams scored runs in their respective halves of the sixth.

Everyone in the Valparaiso line-up got on base at least once, while all but one player who came to bat for Crown Point reached base safely.

Our next Internet radio baseball broadcast on will be Saturday, May 5 when the Bulldogs host the Andrean 59ers. The pregame show is at 12:45 p.m. and first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. CDT.
